Spain has reissued an alert due to the threat of flooding

Parts of Spain are once again on alert due to heavy rain, strong winds, snow and rough seas, according to Spain’s national meteorological agency, AEMET.

An orange alert, indicating moderate risk, has been issued for today on the Balearic Islands, as well as in Valencia and Catalonia, due to rain and coastal conditions.

Regions along the Mediterranean remain the most vulnerable, with rainfall expected to reach up to 40 liters per hour. A yellow warning for rain has been issued in Murcia, while Asturias and Castile and León are under yellow alerts for snowfall.

On October 29, heavy rains hit several regions across Spain, with the southern and eastern areas particularly affected, raising the weather alert to the highest level. Flooding claimed over 220 lives and caused severe damage to Valencia’s roads and infrastructure, the region most impacted on Spain’s eastern coast.
