Four Turks arrested after brutal stabbing in the heart of Polish capital

Four Turkish men were arrested in downtown Warsaw on Wednesday after a stabbing incident on Jana Pawła II Avenue.

The prime suspect, a 23-year-old, is facing charges of attempted grievous bodily harm, drug possession, and driving under the influence. One of the men was also found to be residing in Poland illegally.

The altercation, which started with a verbal dispute over apartment rental payments, escalated when the suspect stabbed a 35-year-old Turkish man in the chest. Police quickly apprehended one suspect at the scene, while the remaining three were detained after a traffic stop on Nowolipie Street, where officers seized a bloody knife and mephedrone.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, and the investigation is ongoing. The 24-year-old detainee found to be in Poland unlawfully has been handed over to immigration authorities. The Warsaw prosecutor’s office has requested a three-month pre-trial detention for the suspects.
