The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) of Poland has arrested Wrocław Mayor Jacek Sutryk in a large-scale case involving the purchase of diplomas, which recently also saw the arrest of female teachers from Odesa.
“This morning, in a case involving suspected crimes and violations at Collegium Humanum, CBA agents, following the prosecutor’s order, arrested the mayor of Wrocław. After procedural actions were completed, he was taken to the local branch of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice,” said Jacek Dobrzyński, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.
“Jacek S. will face charges in the investigation of abuses at the former Collegium Humanum university,” said Przemysław Nowak, a representative of the National Prosecutor’s Office. He added that further details would be provided after “the activities are completed.”
An RMF FM journalist learned unofficially that the reason for the arrest was the purchase of a diploma.
This is a criminal offense under the article on document forgery, which carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison. The Collegium Humanum case involves violations at a private university. Currently, 28 people have been arrested in connection with the case, and they face a total of 150 charges, as noted by the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.
