The Czech opposition party ANO, led by former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, would comfortably win the parliamentary elections if they were held in the near future.
This is according to a study by NMS Market Research.
According to the model by NMS Market Research, ANO currently enjoys the support of 35.3% of voters in the Czech Republic, which is a 2.4 percentage point increase compared to October 2024. Considering the support for parties that do not overcome the electoral threshold, ANO could theoretically win a majority in the lower house of the Czech Parliament.
Next in the survey, with a noticeable gap, are the parties of the ruling coalition: Mayors and Independents (STAN) with 11.1% (a decline of nearly 1 point since October) and the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) with 10% (a decline of 2.2 points). The right-wing Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) could also make it into parliament with 7%, followed by the Communists with 5.8% and the Pirate Party (which recently left the government coalition) with 5.7%. The TOP-09 party, which is currently in the government, does not reach the 5% threshold for entering parliament.
56.7% of eligible voters would participate in elections in November, the same as in previous months. Three years ago, 65.4% of voters turned out for the general elections.
The survey, conducted from November 5 to 12, involved 1,306 adult respondents in the Czech Republic.
Parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic are scheduled for the fall of 2025.
