In Norway, on November 20, a man in his 20s was arrested on charges of intelligence activities. This is stated in a ruling by the Oslo District Court.
According to the court’s decision, the young man was detained on Wednesday, and during interrogation, he admitted to sharing information with Russian and Iranian authorities.
The detainee is charged with two counts of illegal intelligence activities (violating state secrets and harming the interests of other states), carrying sentences of 10 years and three years of imprisonment, respectively.
NRK revealed that the accused, along with another Norwegian of Eastern European origin, owns a company allegedly providing security services to embassies.
The detainee’s lawyer confirmed the arrest to the broadcaster but stated that his client denies the charges. On Thursday, November 21, the Oslo District Court ordered the young man to be placed in temporary custody for two weeks.
