In the Netherlands, police seized a “drugged” garden gnome

The Dutch police have confiscated nearly two kilograms of MDMA (ecstasy) hidden in an unusual form — a garden gnome sculpture.

The exact location of the find has not been disclosed, but law enforcement officers noted that the gnome caught their attention as it was stored among other illegal substances.

We decided to examine this sculpture, and it turned out that the nearly two-kilogram gnome was entirely made of MDMA!, the police statement reads.

The situation was accompanied by a touch of humor: “The gnome itself seemed quite shocked by this.”

This is not the first time that drugs have been found in unexpected places in the Netherlands. Last summer, law enforcement in Rotterdam accidentally discovered a stash of illegal substances hidden in boxes of semi-frozen fish after detecting a suspicious chemical odor at a local facility.
