Italy will not send its soldiers to fight in Ukraine, said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. He made this statement during a meeting of G7 foreign ministers on Monday.
Tajani stated that Italy would not send “a single soldier to fight in Ukraine.”
“We are supporting Kyiv politically, financially, and militarily by sending aid, but we will not send soldiers to fight in Ukraine,” assured the Foreign Minister.
“We must avoid escalation. Russia bears significant responsibility, involving North Korean soldiers in the war and recruiting Houthis and Iranian proxies,” Tajani added.
Earlier, Le Monde reported, citing sources, that discussions about sending Western troops and private defense companies to Ukrainian territory have resumed in Europe amidst concerns about a potential shift in U.S. support under Donald Trump.
