The UK plans to review its immigration policy

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), net migration to the UK exceeded 900,000 people in the last year. In response, the authorities have blamed the previous Conservative government for the situation.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that his government will review the current immigration system. This announcement followed the ONS report that net migration had reached a record level, surpassing 900,000 people. Starmer accused the Conservatives of causing this outcome through their policies.

This is not just a failure; it is a global-scale disaster. It’s not an accident, but a deliberately implemented reform. Immigration policy was changed with the aim of liberalization, and Brexit was used as a tool to conduct an experiment with open borders, said Keir Starmer.

The high level of immigration to the UK was one of the key reasons why British voters chose to leave the European Union in 2016. Starmer noted that the immigration system must change in favor of British workers, as “the economy is too dependent on migrants.”

Migration remains one of the most hotly debated topics in the UK. Many voters are concerned about the strain on public services due to the influx of migrants.
