Beginning in 2025, several Czech universities will no longer require traditional graduation theses.
This significant change, driven by the rising use of neural networks in academic work, will initially be adopted by the University of Economics, Prague (Faculty of Business Administration) and Masaryk University (Faculty of Economics and Administration).
University officials stated, “There is little point in requiring students to write theses when many rely on neural networks for assistance.” They further noted the challenges of verifying the originality of such work under these conditions.
In place of traditional theses, students will complete hands-on assignments tailored to their areas of study.
Reports suggest that other Czech universities are also exploring similar shifts in their academic requirements.
