Six people have been charged in the UK as part of an investigation into activities related to the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

The British police stated that the charges were brought as part of an investigation into activities associated with the PKK. According to the London police, the individuals were charged with membership in a terrorist organization and will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court later on Tuesday, December 10.
The Kurdistan Workers’ Party is a militant Kurdish organization recognized as a terrorist group by Turkey, the US, and the EU. It began its armed struggle for self-determination in the 1980s.
The Kurds are the largest ethnic group in the world without their own state, with the majority residing in a vast region divided between Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Armenia.
