Supporters of ISIS arrested for plotting terror attacks in Germany

In the states of Hesse and Baden-Württemberg, police have arrested three supporters of the terrorist organization ISIS. This was reported today by the criminal investigation departments of both federal states and the Karlsruhe public prosecutor’s office.

The detainees are accused of preparing an “act of violence threatening the state.” The suspects are two brothers, aged 15 and 20, from Lebanon, and a 22-year-old native of Turkey.

The brothers were arrested on Sunday, December 8, in Mannheim (Baden-Württemberg), while the Turkish national was arrested in the Hochtaunus district in Hesse. Authorities seized assault rifles and ammunition from the suspects.

“An extensive investigation conducted by law enforcement confirmed the suspicion that the detainees were preparing for an attack due to their strong religious ideology and deep sympathy for the Islamist terrorist organization ‘Islamic State’,” said the public prosecutor’s office.
