Lithuania detains seven illegal migrants at Belarus border

Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service detained seven migrants at the border with Belarus who attempted to cross illegally on Tuesday, December 10.

According to law enforcement, the seven migrants were apprehended on December 10 while attempting to cross the Lithuanian-Belarusian border illegally.

Officials noted that on the same day, no attempts to illegally cross the border were recorded at Lithuania’s border with Latvia. However, on Monday, December 9, Polish border guards denied entry to 15 migrants.

Journalists report that this year Lithuanian border guards have prevented 965 illegal migrants from entering Lithuania from Belarus through unauthorized crossings.
