Shooting in northern France: law enforcers and migrants among the dead

A tragic shooting incident occurred in northern France on Saturday, December 14, claiming the lives of at least five people.

Among the victims were two law enforcement officers. The incident took place near a migrant camp in the town of Loon-Plage, close to Dunkirk, as well as in the neighboring town of Wormhout. According to police, a 22-year-old man voluntarily surrendered to authorities and confessed to killing a fifth victim in another city on the same day. During his arrest, three firearms were found in his vehicle.

Among the deceased were two security service officers and two migrants. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances and motives behind the crime.
