In Poland, the first court case related to compensation for side effects of COVID-19 vaccination has begun.
A local woman has filed a lawsuit against the State Treasury and the Ministry of Health, claiming that she experienced severe complications following vaccination, which significantly impacted her health and quality of life.
The woman is seeking compensation amounting to 201,000 zlotys, which includes reimbursement for physical and emotional suffering as well as medical expenses. According to her, after receiving the vaccine, she faced prolonged health issues that prevented her from living a normal life.
Lawyers representing the plaintiff emphasize that this case could become an important precedent in the Polish judicial system. They argue that the state, which provided vaccines to its citizens, had an obligation to inform about all potential risks and ensure proper protection in the event of side effects.
Experts suggest that this case could spark a new wave of lawsuits, particularly if the court holds the state accountable for the complications. The court’s decision will have implications not only for Poland but also for other countries where debates about liability for vaccine side effects are ongoing.
