British citizen caught with drugs and crossbows at Ukrainian-Polish border

At the “Krakovets” checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border, border guards discovered drugs and crossbows with arrows in the luggage of a British citizen traveling on a passenger bus.

The incident was reported by the Western Regional Directorate of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service on Facebook.

The bus, registered in Ukraine, was traveling from Kyiv to Świnoujście, Poland, when a spaniel named Jessica alerted guards to a passenger’s suitcase. Inside, officers found two zip-lock bags containing substances preliminarily identified as marijuana and amphetamines.

The 60-year-old British citizen, who claimed the drugs were for personal use, was also found to be in possession of two crossbows with arrows and two rubber batons.

The case has been handed over to the National Police, with potential charges including the illegal production, acquisition, storage, or transportation of narcotic substances without intent to sell, as well as the illegal handling of weapons and ammunition.
