Trump nominates ambassadors to Japan, Dominican Republic, Austria, Luxembourg, and Uruguay

President-elect Donald Trump has announced his picks for U.S. ambassadors to five countries, including Japan, where he has selected George Glass, a former investment bank president and U.S. ambassador to Portugal during his first term.

Glass will replace Rahm Emanuel as ambassador to Japan. Trump praised Glass for bringing his business acumen to the position, emphasizing his background in investment banking.

Trump also named nominees for the Dominican Republic, Austria, Luxembourg, and Uruguay. Leah Francis Campos, a former CIA case officer and senior adviser for the House Foreign Affairs Committee, will be nominated for ambassador to the Dominican Republic. She is also the sister of “Fox and Friends Weekend” anchor Rachel Campos-Duffy.

For Austria, Trump chose Arthur Graham Fisher, president of Fisher Realty, and for Luxembourg, Stacey Feinberg, president of the investment firm 33 Capital. Lou Rinaldi, a businessperson with strong ties to Uruguay, was selected as the ambassador to Uruguay. Trump highlighted Rinaldi’s expertise and background in strengthening U.S.-Uruguay relations and noted his personal connection to the country, having grown up there.

Trump also joked about Rinaldi’s golfing skills, referencing Uruguay’s great courses.
