From January 1, 2025, smoking will be banned in all public places in Milan, including outdoors, with violators facing hefty fines.
The first smoking restrictions in Milan were introduced a few years ago, and now the authorities have decided to go even further. A fine will be imposed for violating the new ban. The new rules will come into effect in the new year.
From January 1, 2025, smoking will be prohibited in all public spaces, including outdoors. The goal of this measure is to make Milan the first city completely free of tobacco smoke.
Smoking will be banned on streets, in gardens near bars and restaurants, at bus and tram stops, in cemeteries, sports centers, parks, and near playgrounds. It will only be allowed in designated areas that are at least 10 meters away from other people.
Those who violate the new rules will face fines ranging from 40 to 240 euros.
