Courier in Florida stabs pregnant woman 14 times over small tip

In the town of Kissimmee, Florida, a 22-year-old pizza delivery driver, Brianna Alvelo, attacked a pregnant woman with a knife after receiving only a $2 tip.

According to ABC News, Melinda Irizarry’s order at Marco’s Pizza Shop totaled $33.10. She handed the courier $50 in cash and asked for change. Alvelo reportedly claimed that restaurant policy prohibited giving change to customers. Irizarry then paid with smaller bills and added a $2 tip.

As Irizarry later told police, Alvelo rolled her eyes and left silently. However, the courier later returned to the motel where Irizarry was staying, accompanied by an unidentified armed man. Together, they broke into Irizarry’s room. Alvelo stabbed the pregnant woman 14 times and, along with her accomplice, stole items from the room.

The victim was hospitalized with a punctured lung and injuries to her chest, arms, and abdomen. She is currently in stable condition. Police have arrested Alvelo, while her accomplice remains at large.
