Turkey has launched large-scale naval exercises, Mavi Vatan-2025, taking place simultaneously in the Black Sea, the Aegean Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea.
According to TRT Haber, the drills involve 20,000 military personnel, 90 ships, and 50 aircraft. The exercises are scheduled to last for 10 days. Rear Admiral Kenan Kan Türkkân, Chief of Staff of the Turkish Navy, stated that the main goal of the exercises is to assess the Navy’s command efficiency in conducting and managing operations and to enhance the operational readiness of its units.
Earlier, in November, the United States and South Korea conducted their first joint exercises involving combat drones. In December, Estonia hosted a two-week international military exercise, Pikne (“Lightning”), with NATO forces participating, while Latvia carried out a partial combat readiness check of its National Armed Forces.
