Nigel Farage to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK and a longtime ally of Donald Trump, is set to attend the U.S. president’s second inauguration on January 20, according to a statement from his party.

Farage has supported Trump since his 2016 presidential campaign, later endorsing him in both the 2020 and 2024 elections. Trump has reciprocated the admiration, calling Farage “handsome” during a rally last year and granting interviews to his GB News program. Farage also attended Trump’s first inauguration in 2016.

Speaking on LBC, Farage confirmed he would spend several days in the U.S. for the event and plans to meet with billionaire Elon Musk, a prominent Trump ally.

Meanwhile, the U.K. government has yet to announce its official representative for the inauguration. Traditionally, Britain’s ambassador to the U.S. — currently Karen Pierce, with Peter Mandelson awaiting confirmation as her successor — would represent the U.K. at such events.
