Nordic countries are recognized as the safest countries to travel to

According to the Travel Risk Map by International SOS, the safest countries in the world remain the northern nations—Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and Greenland.

These countries have minimal risks to safety and health. Other safe countries include Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Slovenia. Most of Europe, the USA, Canada, China, and Australia fall into the low-risk category. Countries like Mexico, Turkey, India, and Indonesia are classified as medium-risk, while Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Sudan, and Libya remain the most dangerous.

Europe also leads in health indicators, although mental health issues are prevalent in Spain, Portugal, and Ireland, where up to 20% of the population experiences depression and anxiety disorders. In Central Europe, such as in the Czech Republic, these rates are moderate (12.5–15%).

Europe is relatively prosperous in terms of climate, whereas Africa and South America are more severely affected by the consequences of global warming.
