A national strike in Belgium on January 13 is expected to cause significant disruptions to public transport in Brussels, as well as rail and air travel.
The strike, called by trade unions, is a protest against government plans for pension reform.
Public transport in Brussels, including the metro, tram, and bus services managed by STIB, will be “severely disrupted,” with travelers advised to seek alternative means of transportation.
National rail services will also be affected, with only one out of three trains operating between major cities, according to the SNCB.
Brussels Airlines has warned that passengers flying through Brussels Airport may face flight cancellations.
