According to a survey conducted by the STEM agency for CNN Prima News, the current Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala (ODS), ranks last in terms of public trust.
Opposition representatives, particularly ANO leader and former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, as well as his colleagues Karel Havlíček and Alena Schillerová, enjoy the highest levels of support.
Andrej Babiš leads the ranking with 28% of respondents expressing trust in him. Karel Havlíček received 22%, while Alena Schillerová garnered 20%.
Tomio Okamura, leader of the opposition SPD movement, has the support of 15% of those surveyed. Among members of the ruling coalition, Vít Rakušan (STAN), who serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, holds the highest level of trust, with 14% of respondents backing him. This level of trust is comparable to that of Communist leader Kateřina Konečná.
Prime Minister Petr Fiala and MEP Filip Turek were trusted by only 12% of respondents. Senator and Přísaha movement leader Robert Šlachta received 10%.
The trust levels of other politicians are as follows: Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and TOP 09 leader Markéta Pekarová Adamová – 9%, SOCDEM leader Jana Maláčová – 8%, and Pirate Party leader Zdeněk Hřib and Agriculture Minister Marek Výborný (KDU-ČSL) – 7% each.
The survey also asked respondents about their preferences for the next Prime Minister ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections this fall. Andrej Babiš emerged as the frontrunner, with 27% support, and in some polls, his approval exceeded 30%. Karel Havlíček ranked second, with 13% of respondents favoring him.
