In the Czech Republic, interest in the situation in Ukraine is declining, according to a survey conducted by the Czech Public Opinion Research Centre (CVVM).
The results show that nearly 60% of respondents do not support the Czech government’s policy aimed at assisting Ukraine during the ongoing military conflict.
The data indicates that a significant portion of the population is skeptical about the effectiveness and necessity of the support provided to Ukraine. This skepticism may be linked to growing domestic issues such as inflation, rising energy prices, and the overall worsening economic situation. Many Czechs believe that the country’s resources should be directed toward addressing internal social and economic challenges.
Experts also note that the initial surge of solidarity with Ukraine, observed in the early months of the conflict, is gradually waning. According to specialists, this could be due to information fatigue and a decline in emotional engagement among the population.
