Greens push for Elon Musk to be banned from Austria

In a surprising twist, Austria’s Green Party, typically known for promoting open borders, has called for a travel ban on Elon Musk. Luckily for the American billionaire, he’s not planning a visit to the Alpine nation anytime soon.

The Greens allege that Musk made a gesture resembling a Hitler salute at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Citing this, they’ve demanded that the Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder be barred from entering Austria.

“Elon Musk has crossed the line,” declared Lukas Hammer, the Greens’ spokesperson on anti-globalist extremism. He added, “The richest man in the world not only supports anti-globalist extremists and meddles in European elections but also appears to have performed the Hitler salute twice. This is a scandal like no other and goes against Austrian and European values.”

Though Musk currently has no plans to visit Austria, Hammer urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Interior to consider banning him as a stand against ‘far right’ extremism. “Elon Musk poses a threat to public order,” the Greens argued.

They continued, “We expect Austrian authorities to take their responsibilities seriously and exhaust all legal avenues to prevent him from entering the country.”

As the birthplace of Adolf Hitler, Austria carries a unique responsibility to send a “clear signal” against such actions, the party stated.

While the accusations have stirred up quite a commotion, it remains to be seen whether Austrian authorities will take action or dismiss the Greens’ call as political theater.
