Donald Trump shared with journalists a letter left for him by Joe Biden when he transferred the presidential duties.
The traditional farewell letter written by Biden to his successor was found in the hands of American journalists. It was discovered in a drawer in the Oval Office of the White House. The letter is addressed to the “Esteemed President Trump” and contains the following words:
As I leave this sacred office, I wish you and your family all the best in the coming four years. The American people and people around the world rely on this house as a pillar in the inevitable storms of history, and I pray that the years ahead will be a time of prosperity, peace, and grace for our nation. May the Lord bless you and guide you, as He has blessed and guided our beloved country since its founding.
This letter is part of the tradition of transferring power in the U.S., where the outgoing president leaves a message for the incoming one.
It is worth noting that Biden did not release a similar letter from Trump, but at the beginning of his term in 2021, he called it “very gracious.”
