Donald Trump’s first phone call as president with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia was a significant moment. The country could be chosen for his first foreign visit.
Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, became the first world leader to speak with Trump on the phone after his return to the White House.
Saudi news agency reported that the prince expressed the kingdom’s intention to increase investments and trade with the U.S. by 600 billion dollars over the next four years, with the potential for even greater amounts. Additionally, the leaders discussed cooperation to promote peace, stability, and security in the Middle East.
It is worth noting that in 2017, Saudi Arabia was the first country Trump visited at the beginning of his first term. Later, he joked that the trip brought the U.S. 450 billion dollars in investments and expressed his willingness to choose the kingdom again for his first visit if the investment amount is confirmed.
So far, the White House has not announced whether Trump plans a trip to Saudi Arabia in the near future.
