French PM labels Elon Musk a “threat to democracy”

French Prime Minister François Bayrou has criticized American billionaire Elon Musk, calling him a “threat to democracy” during an interview with local television.

“Elon Musk creates a threat to democracies,” Bayrou stated, adding, “Money should not grant the right to govern conscience.”

Bayrou’s comments follow his warning last week that France and Europe must resist Trump’s policies to avoid being “crushed.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks come after Musk recently proposed renaming the English Channel—known as “La Manche” in France—to the “George Washington Channel,” sparking further controversy.
