On Monday, January 27, customs officials in the port of Vlissingen (Netherlands) discovered and seized a shipment of cocaine valued at €10.7 million.
According to the Dutch prosecutor’s office, 428 kilograms of cocaine were concealed in a cargo container carrying fruit from Peru, which was destined for a company in Germany. The authorities confiscated and destroyed the drugs.
Earlier, on January 18, reports surfaced about packages of cocaine worth €10 million being found on the beaches of three German islands. On January 24, Spain’s Civil Guard, with the support of Europol, dismantled a large drug trafficking network operating between Latin America and the European Union as part of an international investigation.
