U.S. President Donald Trump jokingly entertained the idea of running for a third term, despite the clear constitutional prohibition against it.
While speaking to a Republican Congress audience in Miami, Trump humorously expressed uncertainty about the rules, saying, “I’ve raised a lot of money for the next race, which I assume I won’t be able to use for myself, but I’m not 100 percent sure, because I don’t know… I think I’m not allowed to run again.”
As laughter filled the room, Trump turned to Republican leader Mike Johnson and quipped, “I’m not sure if I can run again? Mike? I’d better not drag you into this debate.”
