Ukrainian man in Czech Republic sentenced to 7 years in prison and deportation for raping his wife and stepdaughter

In Plzeň, a court sentenced a 39-year-old Ukrainian man to seven years in prison for abusive behavior towards his wife and the repeated rape of his 14-year-old stepdaughter.

Additionally, the accused was ordered to be deported from the Czech Republic for ten years; he admitted guilt in the first crime but denies the second. According to case materials, for nearly two years the man systematically subjected his partner to physical and psychological violence in their home in the Ash region. The prosecutor stated that the accused used offensive language to demean the woman and repeatedly used physical force against her, threatening her with a knife and striking her with his fists and feet.

The 33-year-old victim was hospitalized with injuries sustained in the latest attack in November last year. She also had a previously inflicted injury on her arm.

The man is accused of committing sexual acts with his stepdaughter at least ten times, causing significant distress and suffering. According to the prosecutor, the victim repeatedly resisted and pleaded with him to stop.

The accused met his partner in 2019 in Ukraine and later moved to the Czech Republic for work, although he was employed illegally. When the war in Ukraine began, his wife and children followed him.

According to the man, family problems began after his wife started drinking alcohol and using drugs, which, he claims, led to violence on his part. He also admitted to using drugs but denies the allegations concerning his stepdaughter, asserting that she was raped by other individuals.
