Trump may impose 10% tariffs on EU imports

Officials close to former U.S. President Donald Trump are discussing plans to introduce 10% tariffs on goods imported from the European Union, The Telegraph reports, citing a source close to Trump’s administration.

According to the source, there is no consensus within Trump’s team on tariffs against the EU, “but some are pushing for a 10% tariff.” The discussions include the possibility of applying the tariff to all imports from the EU.

As The Telegraph reminds, during his first term, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum imports from the European Union.

In response, the EU introduced retaliatory tariffs in 2018 on American products, including whiskey, motorcycles, and denim.
