Trump taps former Jerusalem Post publisher, Pence adviser as US ambassador to Poland

President Donald Trump has nominated businessman and media figure Tom Rose, a former Jerusalem Post publisher and senior adviser to Mike Pence, as the next U.S. ambassador to Poland.

“Tom is a well-respected businessman and commentator, with years of experience in media and policy,” Trump announced on Truth Social. “He’ll ensure our interests are well-represented in Poland and will always put America first.”

Rose, a longtime advocate for strong U.S.-Polish ties, has openly praised Poland as “America’s greatest friend in Europe.” He visited Warsaw last December for “ECR Study Days” at the invitation of MEP Adam Bielan and later shared a post highlighting his meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

Back in 2019, Rose leaped to Poland’s defense after journalist Andrea Mitchell wrongly claimed the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was against both Nazis and Poles. Facing backlash, including criticism from the World Jewish Congress, Mitchell issued a correction, which Rose promptly shared, setting the record straight: Poland’s wartime government had resisted Hitler, operating from London while fighting alongside the Allies.

Rose hasn’t shied away from taking shots at the European political establishment either. According to wPolityce, he’s mocked the European left’s push to install Donald Tusk as Polish prime minister under the guise of “restoring the rule of law.”

With his outspoken support for Poland and sharp political instincts, Rose’s appointment signals a continued commitment to strengthening U.S.-Polish relations.
