Armed man in France detained while trying to break into ministry

At the end of January, a man armed with a bladed weapon was arrested in France after attempting to break into the Ministry for Gender Equality and the Fight Against Discrimination.

The incident occurred on January 26 in Paris’s 7th arrondissement but has only now been made public. The suspect was quickly apprehended, but his motives remain unknown. The ministry has already filed an official complaint.

According to BFMTV, this ministry is considered a high-risk target. Previously, in 2023, its head, Aurore Bergé, received death threats against herself and her child.
