French authorities have arrested three people, including a mother and son, in connection with the brutal murder of 11-year-old Louise. The 23-year-old son faces charges of murdering a minor under 15, while his 55-year-old mother is being held for failing to report a crime. A third suspect, a 23-year-old man, was also taken into custody, though details about him remain scarce.
Louise’s body was discovered early Saturday morning in Templars’ Wood, near her school in Épinay-sur-Orge. She had suffered multiple stab wounds, primarily to the torso and neck. An autopsy confirmed that a sharp object caused fatal injuries. Police continue to search for the murder weapon but recently recovered an object that may be linked to the suspect.
Surveillance images of the alleged perpetrator have been released but blurred, making public identification difficult. Earlier, police arrested and later released a couple in their 20s, initially suspected of involvement.
The murder has shaken the quiet town, just 20 kilometers south of Paris. Parents, students, and teachers at Louise’s school remain deeply unsettled. The school has set up a trauma counseling room, while a growing memorial of flowers, notes, and stuffed animals stands at its entrance. A heavy police presence remains, and parents fear for their children’s safety, reluctant to let them walk home alone.
