Danish director Lars von Trier has been admitted to hospital

Danish director Lars von Trier, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, has been hospitalized, Agence France-Presse reports, citing Zentropa Entertainments producer Louise Vest.

According to Vest, the 68-year-old filmmaker is temporarily in a medical facility where he is receiving the necessary treatment and care. She emphasized that von Trier is feeling well given the circumstances. The director first revealed his diagnosis in 2022.

Lars von Trier is a renowned Danish director, screenwriter, and actor, a recipient of the Palme d’Or and the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. His work is known for genre experimentation, provocation, and deep exploration of social and existential themes.
