According to The Guardian, citing official sources, the incident occurred on the evening of February 12. Prosecutors reported that the attacker entered the crowded bar, threw a grenade, and fled without saying a word.
Investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack but do not consider it an act of terrorism. Judge Christophe Barré stated that the attacker appeared to have a Kalashnikov rifle but did not use it. Six of the injured are in critical condition, according to the prosecutor.
Earlier, on February 5, a shooting at an educational institution in the Swedish city of Örebro claimed the lives of 11 people, including the shooter. Additionally, on February 7, Brussels saw its fourth shooting in a week, resulting in one fatality.
