A daring bank robbery took place in Lübeck, Germany: criminals made off with 10 million euros from a vault, breaking into 326 safety deposit boxes at a branch of Deutsche Bank.
The robbers managed to easily infiltrate the bank, then stay overnight inside, and open the boxes without interference.
It turned out that there were neither cameras nor motion sensors in the bank’s vault. According to the police, the criminals had rented the safety deposit boxes in advance to gain access to the basement. They then simply hid in the premises and waited for the bank to close. After breaking into the vaults, they filled suitcases with money, gold, and valuable securities, then left in an unknown direction by car.
After the incident, the bank tightened security measures: clients in the vault are now accompanied by bank employees and security guards. However, affected depositors are facing another problem — Deutsche Bank refuses to compensate for the losses.
The criminals have not been found yet, and the police continue the investigation. A representative of Deutsche Bank declined to comment on the incident.
