The Netherlands opposed Ukraine’s accession to the EU or NATO

Geert Wilders, leader of the right-wing Party for Freedom (PVV) in the ruling coalition of the Netherlands, stated that his party is firmly opposed to Ukraine joining the EU or NATO.

A peace between Ukraine and Russia would be great news. Too many lives have been lost. Kudos to President Trump if he can make it happen! However, the Party for Freedom (PVV) will never agree to Ukraine’s membership in the EU or NATO, Wilders wrote on social media platform X.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted that Ukraine was “never promised” membership in the alliance as part of a peace agreement, adding that the negotiations should focus on establishing sustainable peace.

On Wednesday, a phone conversation took place between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, lasting about an hour and a half. Trump reported that during his conversation with Putin, they discussed the need to end hostilities, and later, he also spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
