France is set to hold a second summit on Ukraine and European security on Wednesday, February 19.
According to Reuters, citing diplomatic sources, this time the meeting will include European countries that did not participate in the first summit, as well as Canada.
The invited countries are Norway, Canada, the Baltic states, the Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Romania, Sweden, and Belgium. Some of these countries may join the summit via video link.
It is worth noting that the emergency summit held on February 17 gathered leaders of the largest EU countries and the UK—eight nations in total, along with the NATO Secretary General and EU leadership. Some capitals expressed disappointment over not being invited.
French President Emmanuel Macron initiated the meeting after Kit Kellogg, the U.S. special envoy for Russia and Ukraine under President Donald Trump, stated that the U.S. does not see Europe at the negotiating table to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
