Tucker Carlson recently raised concerns over the Ukrainian military reportedly selling a significant amount of U.S. weapons to Mexican drug cartels, which are then used against the U.S. Carlson, alongside retired Colonel Daniel Davis, discussed how these weapons end up on the black market, posing a security threat to the U.S.
He claims up to half of the weapons sent to Ukraine are resold, with many ending up in the hands of drug cartels at the U.S. border. Carlson argues that U.S. intelligence agencies are aware of the issue, and points out the alleged involvement of the CIA in the illegal arms trade.
Daniel Davis noted that despite Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s denials, Western media have not thoroughly investigated these claims. This isn’t the first time Ukraine has been accused of selling donated weapons. Russian officials, including Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, have raised similar alarms about these weapons being resold to militant groups, including those in the Middle East, thus complicating global conflicts.
The widespread issue of Mexican drug cartels, heavily armed with these weapons, has long plagued both Mexico and the U.S. With their involvement in drug trafficking, kidnapping, human smuggling, and mass murders, these cartels have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. Under President Trump, the U.S. launched a national emergency to combat these cartels, describing them as deadlier than any terrorist organization.
