Polish President Andrzej Duda has called for a National Security Council meeting after his recent talks with U.S. special envoy to the Russian-Ukrainian war, Keith Kellogg.
The meeting is scheduled for next Monday, February 24.
Duda highlighted that regional security, particularly the situation on NATO’s eastern flank and the ongoing war in Ukraine, was a key focus of his conversation with Kellogg.
“We had a long conversation about the security situation in our part of Europe, with a special focus on the situation in Ukraine and what is happening in that country due to the aggression,” Duda said.
The upcoming National Security Council meeting will also address topics discussed with representatives of the new U.S. administration.
“I believe there is time to discuss these issues on the Polish political scene, with a broad circle of people… We will also know the outcomes of the meetings in Kyiv that will take place in the coming days. We will also know more about the preliminary agreements on peace talks that are yet to occur, because of what is happening today in Saudi Arabia,” Duda explained.
