Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is raising alarms over George Soros’ globalist network shifting its focus to Europe after the Trump administration cut off U.S. funding. According to Orbán, Soros-backed NGOs, previously active in the U.S., are now seeking financial support from Brussels under the guise of human rights initiatives.
“WARNING! Our worst fears have come true. Soros’ liberal NGO empire is fleeing to Brussels after Trump dealt them a major blow,” Orbán declared, insisting that Europe must not become their safe haven.
Documents reveal that 63 such organizations have already applied for EU funding, with many pushing for support in areas like reproductive rights, gender equality, and LGBT advocacy. A coalition of left-wing NGOs has even urged EU leaders to pressure the U.S. into reversing Trump’s aid freeze, arguing that the decision triggered a “global aid crisis.”
Orbán has long accused Soros of influencing European politics through a “transatlantic liberal oligarchy” that targets nations resisting progressive agendas. Reports indicate that during Biden’s presidency, USAID funneled billions into left-leaning media and activist groups abroad, including Soros’ Open Society Foundations. In Hungary, Orbán claims these funds were used to fuel opposition efforts and attempt to force a government change.
Determined to block Soros’ influence, Orbán vows that Hungary will not allow these organizations to take root in Europe. “We won’t fall for their tricks again,” he warns, signaling a continued fight against foreign-backed interference.
