Medvedev warns Zelensky could stage a false flag attack to derail peace talks

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has accused Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky of plotting a major provocation—possibly even using a “dirty bomb”—to sabotage peace efforts and prolong the war with Moscow.

Posting on VK, Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, dismissed Zelensky as a “puppet” leading a crumbling nation. He also claimed that President Donald Trump is losing patience, blaming Zelensky for the war, demanding accountability for U.S. aid, and calling for new elections—which Zelensky has so far refused, citing martial law.

Describing Zelensky as “a rat cornered”, Medvedev suggested he might resort to extreme measures, including striking his own people or using weapons of mass destruction, just to pin the blame on Russia. He urged Western nations to intervene, warning that immediate action is needed to “exterminate the problem.”

Russia has long alleged that Ukraine might develop a radiological weapon, with claims that spent nuclear fuel and hazardous chemicals have been imported under false pretenses. Meanwhile, Zelensky has called for Ukraine’s security to be guaranteed through NATO membership or nuclear weapons, though Kyiv denies any nuclear ambitions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made it clear—Ukraine will never be allowed to become a nuclear power. In November, he issued a stark warning: Russia will use all means necessary if Ukraine attempts to go nuclear.
