The AfD names conditions for coalition with the CDU

In the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, it was stated that they are open to the possibility of forming a coalition with the victorious party, the CDU, if an agreement can be reached on key issues of migration and economic policy.

AfD co-chairman Tino Chrupalla emphasized that the party is ready for cooperation if positions on these matters are aligned.

We have always said that we are open to dialogue when it comes to truly important topics like migration and the economy, Chrupalla said, commenting on the potential cooperation.

According to him, the CDU/CSU candidate for chancellor, Friedrich Merz, must decide for himself whether he wants to form a coalition with the party that came second in the elections. Chrupalla added that ignoring the support of 10-12 million voters would be a mistake.

According to exit poll results conducted by the Forschungsgruppe Wahlen institute for the ZDF channel, the CDU/CSU bloc is leading with 28.7%, AfD is in second place with 19.8%, and the Social Democratic Party of Germany holds third place with 16.4%. The early Bundestag elections took place on Sunday, with polling stations closing at 6:00 PM.
