Nearly six out of ten Poles surveyed on how they think Ukraine should act in its war with Russia believe that it should “quickly move towards peace.”
These are the results of a survey by Opinia24 for Radio ZET.
Sociologists asked Poles: “How should Ukraine behave now in the war?” The responses were as follows:
- “Do not cease hostilities” – 30% of respondents
- “Quickly move toward a peaceful settlement” – 57% of respondents
- “I don’t know / hard to say” – 13%
More men (35%) than women (26%) answered that Ukraine should not “yield in the fight.” However, 55% of men and 59% of women expressed the opinion that Ukraine should “quickly achieve peace,” while 10% of men and around 15% of women admitted they had no opinion on the matter.
The highest proportion of those supporting a quick end to the three-year conflict is among supporters of the Confederationparty, with 74% in this group.
The lowest percentage of supporters of such a solution is among voters of the Civic Coalition party, where only 44% favor it.
It is worth noting that the question of how Ukraine should behave divides supporters of the Civic Coalition, with 47% believing that it should not yield in the fight against Russia. This is also the highest percentage of those advocating for continued resistance against the aggressor when considering the voters of individual political groups.
