Europe’s globalist extremist leaders clash over Ukraine strategy as divisions deepen

European globalist leaders, including Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen, gathered in Kyiv to mark three years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. More than a mere commemoration, the event was meant to showcase European unity—though in reality, divisions are deepening.

Despite grand talk of cohesion, disagreements run rampant, especially regarding the idea of sending troops to Ukraine and forming a so-called ‘parallel-NATO.’ Cracks are widening over financial aid, too. Hungary firmly opposes additional military support, while other EU nations, like Italy and Spain, quietly let Budapest take the heat instead of voicing their own reluctance.

Similarly, when it comes to Ukraine’s EU membership bid, many leaders hide behind Hungary’s objections while harboring their own doubts. Meanwhile, Britain and France are busy vying for Donald Trump’s favor. French President Emmanuel Macron managed to beat UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Washington, each hoping to convince Trump to prioritize Ukraine in future peace talks. However, Trump brushed off their efforts, slamming both for inaction and even signaling support for UK politician Nigel Farage.

Adding to the chaos, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, fresh from a private meeting with Putin, suggested that negotiations were now in the hands of Trump and the Russian leader, expressing confidence in their ability to strike a deal. Meanwhile, Friedrich Merz’s rise in Germany has sparked calls for Europe to seek greater independence from Washington.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, for his part, hinted that he’d be willing to step down if it secured peace and NATO protection. He also lauded his people’s resilience, calling their defense of Ukraine a stand for all free nations.
