Musk recognized China’s leadership in electric car production

Elon Musk has acknowledged that China is leading in the production of electric vehicles and solar energy generation. The head of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the U.S. and entrepreneur made this statement on social media platform X.

In October 2024, Bloomberg reported that the long-standing U.S. policy aimed at curbing China’s technological leadership has not only failed but may also result in the isolation of the United States, as China now leads in several key technological sectors. The world is increasingly using Chinese electric vehicles and smartphones.

A study by Bloomberg Economics and Bloomberg Intelligence revealed that the “Made in China 2025” initiative, launched 10 years ago to position the country as a leader in advanced technologies, has been successful.

In September 2024, Musk also stated that China has surpassed the U.S. in production capacity, commenting on a chart posted on X, which showed that China significantly outpaces the U.S. in electricity generation.
