On the morning of Saturday, March 8, police cordoned off the area around Elizabeth Tower in central London after an unidentified barefoot man climbed the structure with a Palestinian flag.
According to The Telegraph, photos and videos shared on social media show the man standing on the tower’s ledge, holding the flag. Witnesses reported that he was shouting the slogan “Free Palestine.”
Authorities responded swiftly to the incident: police secured the area, temporarily closed Westminster Bridge, and at least eight emergency service vehicles arrived at the scene. To bring the man down from the tower, rescuers deployed a fire ladder. Numerous bystanders watched the events unfold.
