In 2024, Swedish arms and military product exports reached a historic record, totaling more than 29 billion kronor (over 2.6 billion euros).
This represents a 63% increase compared to 2023, highlighting a significant rise in demand for Swedish military equipment and technology. These figures were revealed in a report by the Swedish Inspectorate of Strategic Products, confirming record-high results in this sector.
According to the inspectorate’s representatives, the increase in export volume is linked to the worsening global security situation, which directly affects the demand for defense industry products. Experts note that the growth compared to the previous year is exceptional, indicating a significant shift in the global context and an increased need for military products, especially in the face of geopolitical instability.
The largest share of exports was directed to European Union countries and other partner states, which are key allies of Sweden in terms of security.
